One day when they went to the beach, they found a whale wrapped in a net beached on the sand. Max waited with the whale while Jake went to get a lifeguard to get some help. When the scientists got there everyone helped get the whale untangled. Then Jake and Max got to help push it back in to the ocean. To thank Jake and Max for their help, the scientists gave them a ridein their boat. Submitted by: Julie, AUSTRALIA Then the boat tipped over. Jake and Max tried to help the people, but they needed to have some more help. All of a sudden the whale they had just helped came to help them. The whale became their friend. Jake and Max visited him every day. When the whale saw them coming he would come

The whale also saved Max's life! Max swam out too far and a shark attacked him. Nick was there in an instant. He shoved the shark away and helped Max back to shore. Luckily, the shark didn't hurt him. Submitted by: Emily

Then Jake and Max wanted to see France. They got on Nick's back and rode all the way there. Jake and Max had to take a special class to learn French. The whale learned how to speak French, too. The next morning Nick and his friends saw something very peculiar. It was an oil boat and it was dumping oil in to the ocean. Max and Jake didn't know what to do to protect Nick and all the other whales. When Nick, Max and Jake returned from France, the president told them that there would be awarded for their good deeds by being the first to go to the ocean planet Oceanic. They built a huge tank for Nick and they got Jake's mom's permission and they were off. The trip was long and boring, but when they got there it was a sight to behold water everywhere. When Jake, Max, and Nick got to Oceanic they met a new kind of people. They called themselves the Oceanians. They looked like humpback whales with teeth instead of a baleen They wanted to know lots about Jake, Max, and especially Nick. One of the Oceanians came up to Jake and Max and said, "Hello. My name is Jaceen. I'm a scientist here on Oceanic. I'd like to know more about whales on earth. Jake said that she should talk to Nick. Leaving France on Nick's back, Max and Jake found themselves in the North Atlantic where they swam in to the ship the MIMI. It was carrying a crew of scientists doing research on humpback whales. The MIMI got stuck in the shoals and the crew saw Nick breaching in the waves with Max and Jake on his back. Captain Granville of the MIMI asked Nick to help lead them off the shoals. After they had visited France, Nick wanted to take them on a tour of the ocean so they hopped on Nick's back and went for a ride. They went across the ocean to Australia. They had a good time. There was a big oil spill in Hawaii and it endangered Nick and other whales. Max and Jake had to take the to safer waters. They took them on ferries to the polar Arctic to find some clean water. Submitted by: Anthony, Massachusetts USA
Just as they were leaving Hawaii, Jake, Max and Nick felt a huge rumbling in the earth. They thought it was an earthquake but soon realized it was an erupting volcano. There was lava everywhere. Jake, Max, and Nick had a great time in Hawaii. They decided they wanted to scuba dive by the Hawaiian Islands. Jake and Max had to get scuba gear, and Nick took them to see all of the beautiful colored fish and the groovy caves! They even tried to find a bright yellow, orange, and blue fish! Jake and Max decided to buy a boat so they could see the whale. One day a shark bite the boat. The boat filled with water and sank slowly. Nick brought Jake and Max back home to Massachusetts. They we're glad to be home with their families. After a yummy dinner and a good night's sleep they decided to go to Cape Cod. They ate so much that when they went back home they almost drowned in the Pacific Ocean because they were so heavy Nick had trouble keeping them up. Later they went scuba diving with Nick and Nick showed them his family including a picture of his great great great great great grandfather and grandmother. They all thought they should go scuba diving again and again so they could have more fun with Nick and the rest of Nick's family. Nick was so happy with the thought of them visiting again he forgot to eat his dinner. The next morning Nick's mother said you didn't even introduce me is it because my name is so long? Jake was 9 years old. Max was 8 years old they decided to clean the ocean with a sea cucumber named Jeff. Nick took them scuba diving so they could go deep. The heavy oil made Jeff a little bit sick.
