Hammerhead Shark Highlights:

There are nine species of hammerheads. The five smaller species are not larger than 1.5 meters. The four largest species are about 3 - 5 meters long. Hammerhead species are found all over the world in warm oceans. They primarily eat fish. (Except the bonnethead, which eats crustaceans.)  A hammerhead, like other sharks, propels itself  through the water by moving its tail in a back-and-forth (side-to-side) motion. Hammerheads are viviparous, which means the pup  is born live. Shark gestation varies depending on water temperature, species, and individual animal.
